Reasons Why A Car Would Stop While Driving?

Change your fuel filter first. It will cost you $10 dollars. Considering it's upstream of your injectors it's much more likely the problem than the injectors.

this might sound crazy but some cars stop when you open a door while driving...

im serios that happends to my moms 2006 toyota matrix

Bad fuel pump; fuel vapor lock, no fuel, no electrical power, electronic fault, and only a professional knows the possible 20 more reasons. I am going to theorize that you have guessed before as to car repairs and you wish to do the same. Not smart, not wise and not advisable. You can guess the injectors and spend $100 plus for service. It shall not fix the problem. You can change the fuel filter, pump, do a flush. It shall not fic the problem.. The story shall continue with whatever you wish to guess at. Only a mechanic after inspecting the car and performing some test shall arrive at the most likely cause. You shall be informed and given an estimate as to repairs. Very simply approach that is applied about 17 million times each week in the USA. Auto repairs is a HUGE business. That is why there are so many auto repair businesses, local and national chains, all over and why they do so well as to profits. Be smart, do not ask any one but a trained, certified and experienced mechanic.

possibly a recall gm has for faulty ignition switches

to answer your question if there's anything else that can cause this problem:

there are several different things that could cause it to stall out while you are driving.

there's really just too little information to be exact. some causes could be the throttle positioning sensor the transmission MAP sensor idle air control the list can go on

does your check engine light come on?

I suggest taking it to a place like autozone who can hook up a scanner even if the check engine light didn't come on to see if there are any trouble codes that pop up. there's only a handful of auto parts store that will scan it for free autozone is 1 0 Rileys is another. if at all possible avoid Pep Boys they are crooks

injectors are low on the list

1 check battery and connections,,don't say radio works,,IT only needs 9 or 10 volts

2 computer scan..ck engine light means more than gas cap loose

3 ignision key? its a GM ,,lol

gas FILTER and pump [pressure]

YOUR MECHANIC should check before you randomly replace parts

I own a 2008 Pontiac GT G6. You see, my car has been suddenly stopping while I'm driving with no apparent warning. The only thing that changes as this happens is I can feel my car struggle to shift gears (it's automatic) and suddenly lose power. When it happens, I can see my RPM gauge just shoot straight to 0, and I can't accelerate. I have to pull over where ever I'm at as my power-steering just dies on me as well, and restart my engine. Everyone I've talked to says its a problem with bad gas and my fuel injectors are just clogged. I was wondering if there was any other reason my car would be stopping before I commit to getting my injectors professionally cleaned. I do occasionally throw in fuel cleaners in my gas tank when filling up, but that might not be doing the trick I guess. Any other possibilities?
