You'll get about 20% less gas mileage on E85 than on E10 (regular gas). So if the price is more than about 20% less, you're better off to use the E85.
Other things could factor into your decision, like supporting American farmers vs. imported oil, energy independence, etc. but for most people it's all about the price.
It will get the best mileage using straight gas. Why are you so surprised about the fuel economy? Didn't you do any research before you bought it?

Just going to havta figure it out youself. Whatever saves you money. Regular gas obviously is gonna be Better for it but your engine is built to run the flex fuel also. Your choice man. Not ours
Here we have another buyer that should have known better, by her own words buying a tank, be it a Toyota or a GMC and bitching about gas mileage. Blame the manufacturer not the buyer. I'd bet you were all smiles and bragging to the neighbors when you drove it home. Now your crying you can't run a errant or see your old dad, though, it is your bed lie in it.
I just found out my Chevy Uplander can use FlexFuel, which is almost a dollar cheaper than gas, but I am getting mixed reviews. My Uplander is already shitty with the milage (Should have known better, it's a GMC) and I have a very limited income. Milage is lessend if using FlexFuel, I understand, but if I were to go half and half what's the p & c's? Or is it best if I don't bother and just pay the ridiculous gas prices? Bad enough I can't even go visit my father 115 miles away, but I can't even afford to waste gas to run errends. Any suggestions OTHER than get a different vehicle? Just got this in March and it's far too soon to ditch it.
