Paint for Headers? Are there any brands that really work and will last a while?

Don't pull them if you have fears the bolts will break. If the bolts break, it's going to be a LOT more work than just finding someone/someplace that has an oxy/acetylene setup that can heat the surrounding metal up prior to pulling the bolts.

You don't heat the bolts themselves, only the surrounding metal. The surrounding metal must get glowing red (no, propane won't come close) before you start to try and loosen it. If it doesn't come free easily, it's not hot enough. That simple. Used this technique many, many times to remove exhaust to manifold and manifold to head bolts. WHENEVER I don't use heat and think I can get away without it, they break. I have one head in my garage right now with a broken bolt in it...I used heat on both sides, but the one side didn't come free easily, so instead of heating it further, I just put a bit more force on the bolt. Idiot.

you need to go the auto parts store and buy heat the platinum look good. spray wd 40 on couple try tighten them just enough to move that brakes the rust on loosen it up about a full turn stop then tighten just bit spray with wd40 again what wash away the yu remove the bolt if you leave it will bind the nut and you know answer torch time if brake a bolt ask for that advise

i would spray liquid wrench on them several times over the course of a couple of days until youre ready to do it .. be sure to have a good socket and ratchet, extensions ect so you can get a powerful straight yank on them .. on the paint i wouldnt waste my time .. to do it right generally would require good prep like sandblasting then most would require baking and curing it right to get it to stick right .. if you do try it i would at least scuff them with sandpaper well and put a very light single coat on of like flat black .. if you get it thick it will likely blow right off ..

Hi, use the stuff that has ceramic in it.. I did 15 years ago and they still look good to day.. a little lighter in color but still nice .. I did put them in a kiln and bake them for a short time..

good luck
