PLEASE HELP. CAR AIR CONDITIONING?

A good a/c specialist would test for leaks with a coloured dye. The wally you took it to couldn't be a r s e d.

the repairer should have leak checked the system with vacuum and nitrogen pressure. But most garages are lazy, they don't run the vacuum for hours to dry out the system.

I had the same thing, re-gassed, lovely for a week then no good. I checked and the heat exchanger in front of the radiator had a leak - green oil from a spot of corrosion.

fitted a new heat exchanger and then had it re-gassed - perfect.

Lots of Garages, Tuners, Auto-electrical and even body-shops have jumped on the Air-con re-gassing band-wagen with apparently no specialist knowledge of the subject.

Seems obvious to me if there is a leak you can re-gas as many times as you like but it won't stay 'gassed' !

It worked for seven years without a recharging what do you think.

The AC is a closed system, meaning no refrigerant should leave the system. It also means that it must have the correct amount of refrigerant which is measured.

He's playing roulette with your car if he has no idea how much refrigerant is in the system. He must use gauges and pressure to see. If he's not doing that, you need to go somewhere else.

It is common for AC systems to leak, probably the biggest problem. The leak has to be repaired.

" Is this normal to regas then regas again without a major leak in the system "

Any leak would require it to be re gassed regular even a minor one. If it had a major leak it would not get cool at all.

You have a leak. take it somewhere else.

My car is ten years old but I had it for seven years and the air condition recently started blowing warm air.

I took it to a company to check but the man told me that unless he re-gas the system he won't know whether or not there is a leak. I left it for 45 minutes and he told me there wasn't any leak and that he has topped up the system.

It was very cold but after about a week and half it wasn't as cold as it was when received from the technician.

I took it back and he re-gas it again free. suggesting that maybe the seal wasn't tightly closed he wasn't sure.

My question is: Is this normal to regas then regas again without a major leak in the system?

Could the system has a leak? The guy who regas it does not do leak repair. Are you an expert or with some good knowledge? please advice me. Thank you in advance family.
