Oil light goes on when pressing gas downhill?

Yes, as others have said, check the oil level on the dipstick right away. But, if it's full, still have the condition tested and repaired. The oil light coming on is the only warning that you get when the oil 'pressure' is too low and oil pressure that is too low will damage the engine.

Check.

Your.

Oil.

Or buy a new car in a couple days.

well just check the oil level , park the car level, take out the dipstick and check the level, takes 5 minutes. then if its full your good.

its probably because all the oil moves to the front of the oil pan and your oil sensor registers that its low. if your car is running fine still and it doesnt bother you then it shouldnt be a reason to worry.

My oil was changed about 1K miles ago. For the last 3 days I noticed that the oil light blinks when I apply my brakes and I'm downhill (forward). What does this mean? something wrong with the oil, the sensor or I need an oil change? I wanna know if it can wait until the weekend or if its really bad and i should take the car in right away.

thanks!
