Oil in my air intake system?

They have an orifice tube type PCV system if I recall correctly instead of a valve. This was done to minimize oil lost by the valve(as well as save money) so in theory no liquid oil should be getting by and even if the oil is condensing, it still seems excessive. I would run a compression test on the motor and possibly a leakdown test if the results show a potetial problem.

They have a pcv system and the vent for it is in the intake, what you're seeing is vapour that has condensed, it's normal.

if its wet oil then its blow by and that means your piston rings are going bad and letting oil past, but if its a thin dry layer of oil then thats no big deal

love is all you need

So, I decided to go ahead and clean out my throttle body on my Olds Alero 2.4l twin cam and when I took my air intake box out of the motor, it had oil inside of it. There was also some oil on my throttle body. What could this be? These motors don't have PCV valves I guess. So I'm totally lost.

Thanks for the help
