No added pressure when gas pressure washer is running.?

First you will want to try a pump test. With garden hose attached to the unit and the water turned on and the high-pressure hose, gun, and wand removed start the pressure washer. Water should shoot out of the pump 15 to 20 feet. If this does not happen then there is a restriction in the pump and it should be checked at an authorized service center as there is most likely an internal issue with the pump.

If the water flows freely then add one piece at a time; add the high-pressure hose, gun, and then wand/nozzle. If at any time the water becomes restricted check that part for kinks, cracks, leaks or obstructions. If none of the above are found, but the water is still restricted the part may need to be replaced.

You can locate the authorized Briggs & Stratton service and parts dealers nearest to you at this link:

Sure sounds like it. Do you inject pump lube after every use? If not, the calcium in the water in the pump settles out and wears out the O-rings. You can try rebuilding it with an O-ring kit.

The pump is sealed and I can't tell if it's out of oil. How do you reset a relief valve? There are no instructions in the manual.

My pressure washer takes holding the trigger down for 30 seconds before i get full pressure.

Check coupling between engine and pump. Is there oil in pump? Did relief valve not reset? All things to check before shitcanning pump.

The Briggs and Stratton starts great and there is sufficient engine oil. There is a good flow if water but the pressure from the wand is the same whether the engine runs or not. I notice the last time it worked that the pump seemed hot a the relief valve did release a short jet of water. Is my pump shot? The pump is a sealed unit.
