Need to know if its a blown head gasket?

If crank, cylinders, pistons are good, a remanufactured head is about $250, head gasket/gasket set about $100. About 16 hours of work if you know how to read a shop manual and have tools.

I'd offer $400 and take a gamble, pull the head and see what it looks like, if it is ok, fix it, if not, scrap it for a $200 loss.

The engine is toast. it is smoking out the back for whatever reason a head gasket may cost 5-8 hundred to maybe fix. so This car is scrap unless you can pick it up for less than 4 hundred and have the time knowledge and ability to repair a 30yr old car walk away

I hope those "7 bills" are dollars because that's all a 1990 Prelude with a blown motor is worth. Run from this heap O crap.

Take a pass on it. The motor has been abused and if the oil and filter have not been changed every 3,000 miles the crankshaft and rod bearings are about to fail. You need a rebuilt motor to the tune of $2200.

I hope those "7 bills" are hundreds. That's about all the car is worth with a crapped out engine.

I wouldnt touch it. If they forgot to put oil in it then who is to say the bearings arent shot too or the rings are stuffed. Head gaskets the least of ya worries

Well there's a person selling a 1990 Honda Prelude for 7 bills . The problem with it from I been told is that they forgot to put oil when they needed to and it struggles to run now. And I asked if white smoke comes out the exhaust and it does but it doesn't overheat. I tried asking more questions but the person didnt seem to know much over the phone. Wondering if anyone would know whats wrong with it. I would give more information but the other person doesn't know much about it. Should I just forget about it or get the price a lot lower, if so how much is it to repair? The interior is nice , ac runs, stereo , ect . Just that bit I don't know about
