My truck turns off when I turn the ax on?

By ax, do you by any chance mean A/C, as in air conditioning? If so, remove A/C compressor belt, turn key to "Run" position w/ a charged battery, re-connect A/C plug and turn on. Can you turn the compressor pulley by hand? If not, compressor is seized, and that is what is stalling your engine. If so, there is a MAJOR electrical draw in that circuit that is loading your alternator too much, and THAT is causing stalling. Good belts and wimpy engine. Have fun with this one.

Sounds like its not charging the battery. When you use up the charge then there is nothing to make spark to fire the plugs. To put it a simple way.

could your alternator be playing up

the sudden load might cause the engine to stop

that would explain the battery being dead

perhaps consider a short aswell

get a meter, test the alternator

"Ax"? Are you asking about A/C ( air conditioning ) perhaps?

Don't turn the "ax" on, whatever that is.

I have a 1976 f100 and every time I turn the ax on the trucks shuts off and won't turn back on until I disconnect the battery cables and charge the battery for a couple hours and if you try to jump start it it won't work is there a reason why I disconnected the ax compressor and it still has the same problem
