It is probably in need of servicing, There are metal arms in the door that guide the window up and down, they might just be rusty and wd40 will help, or maybe the motor has gone out on it, if you are a fix it yourself kind of guy you can by a a new motor and column for around 50$, Just make shure to inspect the obvious problems first. If you are not the handy kind of guy just take it to the nearest repair shop, if they are not busy they will probably have it done within the hour!
There are a couple of different things that you need to consider here:
1: Broken switch
2: Bad motor
If it's just a broken switch, it should be relatively cheap and easy to replace. If the motor is bad, you'd likely hear a faint humming/whining sound coming from the door when you attempt to raise/lower the window. If that is the case, you're going to be looking at a much more costly repair.
The electric motor is not working not a job for the faint hearted can be a knuckle scraping repair.
Any auto glass service can repair this in a short time for a minimal cost
