Is this the old line or have you replaced the gas line? New line takes awhile to get the air out and fill with gas. If its all the same, then it is probably bad thermal couple. You can put a new one in yourself.

is this a propane tank, if so tank may be empty, is this natural gas, if so the city may have shut their side off, if none of these then most likely the regulator needs replaced! or there is another shutoff behind the appliance that you are trying to light! should be a shut off at the appliance by code!

bleed the lines, check for dead bugs clogging the jets. gas should flow to the pilot circuit when the safety is pressed on lighting selection.
