Robert really does talk some nonsense. You need to take it to bits. Float or dirt in the needle valve. No quick fix but it's not hard
The carburetor has a float inside which should stop the flow of gas when the internal reservoir is filled, much like your toilet float stops water flowing into the toiler. Apparently the float is getting hung, or the needle valve which the float operates has trash in it and can't close.
It seems to be common for a MIKUNI or other JAPANESE carb to get into FLOAT issues more often than most! You can try this< though! get a can of AMSOIL POWER FOAM or even SEAFOAM! insert the nozzle into the fuel bowl VENT HOLE, and spray it down! Any JUNK will foam out, and the metals will return to FACTORY CLEAN Coinditions! I have rebuilt several HONDA< TOYOTA and other JAPANESES carbs, and with a steady hand, you can remvoe the BOWL VOER LID and clean thigns out directly! Most MIKUNI carbs have a FLAOT BOWL window on the SIDE of the CARB! FIRST< use GUNK ORANGE ENGINE CLEANER and power wash the the entire engine down! Remove the AIR CLEANER and clean the BASE PLATE< and everything NEAR the CARB! GUNK leaves a pleasant protective coating that will lubricate the CARB RETURN SPRINGS and EVERYTHING! GUMOUT used after wards will restore MORE even running as well ! AMSOIL POWER FOAM easily s\dissolves CARBON sludge and contamination for you, the FUEL JETS< and the AIR jets will ALSO com e clean as showroom! IT will foam the debris out the fuel bowl as well! it is under pressure! CHECK FOR THAT SIDE WINDOW for the FLOAT BOWL level! There is a screw on the OUTSIDE of the carb to reset it! BUT CLEAN IT ALL UP FIRST! Good luck! rgmuske@yahoo.com!I I can show you HOW to get up to 20% MORE POWER and ECONOMY as well! BYE NOW!
Reset your float chamber......my brother had the same problem a month ago.
The carb has a float that is supposed to rise, hit a needle valve, and shut off the flow.
The float adjustment could be off and need some bending, there could be a piece of dirt stuck in the valve holding it open, and I have even seen floats with a leak that sank.
I have a Suzuki rm 125 and when I switch the fuel on it just comes out of the overflow pipe. I have tried to clean my carb but that didn't help.
