My car wont start in cold weather help!?

Depends where you live and if it freezes often. Take your battery out and warm it up. After a few hours, reinstall it and jump start it. If the vehicle starts, rev the vehicle to 2000-2500 rpms for a couple of minutes. If the battery light comes on or if the vehicle dies on you, your alternator crapped out leaving not enough voltage to engage the starter. If the vehicle doesn't jump start, your battery failed or your starter is frozen. To insure if the battery is bad, take it to Autozone or anywhere that would do a free battery test. The results won't lie. If failed, recommend you get a battery with higher CCA than your usual battery if you live in a place where it's cold and snows often.

Now here's where the place you live can affect car starting. I used to live in Wyoming for 9 months, June to March. Starters often froze over. Have someone start the car while you hammer the starter a few times, should start right up. Recommend do the other two tests first.

#1. Take the 12 volt bettery to any store that sells new ones other than Auto Zone. Ask for a free 15 second battery *load test which will tell the reserve amperage capacity. Amperage spins starter motors not voltage.

Hi yes first signs of winter is when old batteries die or give you an early warning bell.

so time to get a new battery fitted.

New battery needed. If you upgrade the battery on replacement it will start better and last longer. High CCA is what you need.

wait til warm weather

but seriously, lift your hood up, you should find a plug, plug that in when your home that should keep your engine warm...and you should be able to start your car

not even a click.. its battery

I tried turning my car on tonight in 28 degrees weather and it wouldnt start. It didnt even make a clicking noise when i turned the key. I can't put it in a garage or under a tarp because im at college so its just in a parking lot all day. Its a 2004 kia amanti btw, thank you!
