My car won't start..been parked for 1yr?

Well i could be several different things but most likly is there's a short somewhere or the starter take a wrench and peck lightly on your starter if it is your starter there's a 50/50 chance it might enguage after hiting it but if it works you will still need a starter it normally works only once

Take the battery from your truck and put in your car. Direct connection usually works. Look for ground braided wire from the block to the frame, ( are they connected or attached )? Check your coil packs, are they snug fitting ? Check your starter for corrosion around the contact points.

Make sure you have a good connection and with your truck running, let it run for several minutes then try it.

You'll be able to tell if you have a good connection with your cables or not. If they are hooked to the truck and its running, then hook it to the car, you should hear the engine start to work harder if the connection is good.

leave it hooked up for about 30 minutes then try to start it

I have a 96 Acura Integra, I was deployed and could not leave it in a garage or do anything to it before I left. Now last night I finally decided I would try to start it, before I did so I checked a few things such as.

1. oil level, 2. gas level, 3. tranny oil level, 4. coolant level(refilled). Now I knew the battery would be bad. So what I did was pulled my truck up next to it grabbed me some jumper cables and connected them to the batteries. After a few minutes the lights inside the car worked, and so did the head lights with no problem. However when I tried to turn the car on, nothing happened. The lights still came on but I heard no clicking no crank just complete silence as if I wasn't trying to turn it on. Can anyone tell me why this may be? can it still be my battery that even if its connected it is still not strong enough to spark and turn it on. Can it be the starter? I don't know what else it can be, I am leaning to it being the battery. Please help.
