Change the filter and fluid in the transmission, it may not fix it but it may. Who knows. But it sounds like you are going to need a major repair or replacement. A replacement trans may be affordable for you, I always use automotix.com when I have to order stuff, ordered an engine for an 08 civic for $1,100 shipped to me and a manual trans for the same car for $500. Short answer.......you probably need a major transmission repair or replacement. Do visit a local transmission shop to have them give you advice once they listen to the problem.

Long long ago I lost rev in my 72 Grand Prix, I just got a used replacement transmission (TH-400) from a auto salvage yard.

I believe most transmissions are now solenoid controlled to switch different gears, either the solenoid is faulty or the band that the solenoid is supposed to control is faulty... would be my guess..

I would try changing the fluid since you can make it any worse because it could also be that the fluid can't flow where it needs to.

Change the filter too if you change the automatic transmission oil.

transmission needs rebuilt. save the money on changing the filter and fluid it won't fix anything. find local shop at ATRA.COM for more help

I have a 2001 Mazda millenia. My car will will shift into all other gears except reverse. When I go from park to reverse or drive to reverse it makes a clunk sound and won't back up. My car does drive forward. My transmission fluid is full but it is brown in color. What is wrong? Please help?!!'
