My car if not working right need help to know that wrong?

Hello

First thing I would do is get a friend with a car and a set of Jump Leads and a Volt Meter

Connect the Jump Leads and start the other car. Slowly rev up the engine whilst taking a reading across your battery, It should go up to 14.5 Volts. Remove the Meter and let the other car run for 5 or 10 minutes.

Then try and start your car.

If it starts your Starting system is OK, Remove Jump Leads and take another Volt reading it should do the same (Max 14.5 Volts) when you slowly rev up.

If it does it should be the battery, Switch Off car, Take Meter reading, Should be 12 Volts, Leave for 15-20 minutes and take another reading, If still 12 Volts Battery is OK. If it shows lower then battery needs replacing. Batteries are 6 X 2 Volt cells but only give out 6 X lowest cell so 6 X 1.5 Volt = 9 Volts.

If you rev up and it goes over the Max 14.5 Volts the normal cause is the Voltage Regulator (Part of the Alternator) needs replacing and may have cooked the Battery.

Your starter has fouled out. Replace your starter and that should fix your problem. If there is oil leaking out of your engine block down into your starter it will cause it to fail resulting in a buzzing or clicking noise when you try to crank your vehicle. The engine will not make a sound because the starter isn't working to turn the engine over. Starters for most older model vehicles are cheap and can be replaced yourself to save you some money. Go to autozone and tell them what make and model vehicle and you need a starter. They will require a core charge which means take your old starter off and give it to them to get your new starter at a cheaper price. Most gas engines you will find the starter on the left hand bottom side of the engine (passenger side of vehicle). It has one or to plugs going to it and usually three bolts holding it on. Take a picture of every angle of the starter to note bolt location, plug location, and the proper orientation to mount the starter. Always disconnect your battery before working on any engine or electrical components on a vehicle. I hope this helps.

Sounds like your battery is dead, or you need a new starter. I would try charging the battery first as it would be cheaper.

Good luck!

From the way you describe the problems, you really ought to be riding a Schwinn instead. Have someone who can speak and write in intelligent English help you.
