Possibly the water pump fan clutch or electric supplemental fan circuit, fix it fast if it has a 4.0 or the warped head doom will set in. You would be the one to know if the electric fan is working or if it's on all of the time.

If the electric fan runs, look at the fan clutch - http://dgzmd7u6z2by7.cloudfront.net/part...

First, make sure your cooling system is full. Check when it is cold, and make sure the coolant overflow tank is full. Check to see that the fan belt is not slipping. Then try replacing the thermostat, which could be stuck, after first making sure that the temperature is really high and not a bad sensor or gauge. If all of this doesn't work, either your radiator is clogged or you have a defective water pump. If it's the radiator, have it flushed and refill it with the proper mixture of water and anti-freeze. If all this fails, you probably need to replace the water pump. Or, you could just take it to a mechanic, hope he is honest and pay him big bucks for the diagnosis.

An easy quick start is to make sure the radiator has the right amount of antifreeze in the water. If you've been adding water each time it is low, the antifreeze (or coolant) maybe be too low. Hopefully it will be that easy.

Your thermo fan is broken most likely

when i go to the drive through at mcdonalds or other places my temperature bar thing gets really high and i cant figure out why my car is a jeep from 1992 its pretty old and rusty but i want to know if i can fix the problem or if im going to have to vuy new pieces or vist the junkyard to get pieces
