My 2004 jeep liberty don't start, battery & starter good. What is the problem?

OMG!! I have the same problem. bought a new starter last month ran ok for a couple of weeks and the problem came back. This time, I took it to a Jeep dealership (yesterday) and they could not diagnosis the problem. So, they said we'll do a process of elimination. I just don't know what to do. I would asssume fuses were checked when they ran the diagnostic machine. but not for sure. Anyway, looks like I will give them another chance. You know, the process of elimanation thing. Any thoughts?

You'll need to take it to jeep for a diagnosis. Shouldn't cost more than 150, and they will test everything and find the source. I dont recommend throwing anymore parts at it, spending the 100-150 would be more wise.

Verify the connections are clean to a shine and tight.

Next, get a test light for automotive systems at the parts or hardware store. 4 bucks.

Start by checking the power is where its sent.

the battery has 12v. the cables are good and connected well.

The clutch switch sends the power to the start wire from the ignition switch.

The floormat does not interfere with the full release of the clutch.

If you havent replaced the starter relay you say you bought, make sure it gets that function depending how its wired. Being a jeep, its anybody's guess.

Any of the new parts could be defective, these things aren't made in America anymore. Ask grandpa for help. i'll bet he was a good American.

Wiring diagrams are free at the library. I use my card online and get the basics from their database.

Make sure you did not leave a wire off or loose.

sometimes a starter can work after tapping on it.

Indicating trouble within and making it intermittant.

If you have tweakers hanging around, look for loose fuses.

Problem is Jeep Liberty's are one of the most unreliable cars on the road since they were released. Horrible track record, sorry to say bud. Dodge in general is just plain bad. ;o(

Check your fuses, if you have a blown fuse you need to replace it

My jeep liberty won't start. It was working fine. My granddad went to the store no problems 10 minutes later I start my car & nothing. All lights & every thing comes on. My battery was checked great condition. Thinking it was my starter I replaced it & bought a new starter relay. After the starter was replaced it was working fine. Drove it around still no problems. Soon as I got it home shut it off & tried restarting it nothing. I'm back to square one. Can anyone help me figure out what it could please & thank you.
