I have a 2002 Pontiac grand am that won't start in the morning...I have to spray starter fuel in it to get it started...can some one help
Battery or alternator or regulator. Take to Wal~Mart auto repair and have them do an electrical check on it which includes a load test on the battery and checking the alternator output. Costs maybe $15 bucks for them to do and then you will know. Starter is fine.
They got the tools and equipment and another battery(mind you I would just take the battery back to the place where you purchased it and tell them it is garbage. It happens sometimes as these batteries are produced by the hundreds. They should give you another battery in exchange...as the company expects a few duds.
Alternator or regulator is your problem, especially if you are one of those dudes that have jumper cables in the trunk and help any stranded motorist with a jump. You may have fried your own alternator yourself.
It is still cheaper than a new car.
Leaking fuel injectors can create a rich , flooded condition that makes for hard starting .
Weak spark , coils , distributor , plugs , wires or even an ignition control unit can all lead to weak spark .
The idle air control valve is also an item that if not working properly can create for hard , cold starting .

I know grand am's have a security problem but, I got the security system deactivated so I haven't been having problems with it. I got a new BCM and switch (control lock switch). Within the past month I've got a new battery & alternator.
I've tried just about everything with this car. When I try to start it in the morning, it trys to start but it won't start unless I play with it, or it'll start & shut completely off. Once I get it started and let it warm up, it'll start just fine the rest of the day. It's just when the car sits at night it acts funny....
What could be the problem? Everyone says it's not the starter either....Any suggestions. I don't have the money to buy a new car....
