Those things are no joke. I had a shop say they could get one off and then it took then over an hour to get it off. You can find the tool to remove, it may take some time, and you may have to order it off ebay, but better that then cutting the rim off. Find a high end aftermarket rim shop. They deal with these as their customers with expensive rims have to have locking lug nuts.

Take it to the dealer and let them us a "universal" key on it. It's a carbide lug wrench with sharp teeth that's eats into the lug nut until it spins loose.

Unless you registered the lug nuts with the manufacturer you'll never be able to buy a key.

you can try to drill the nut.. it will take time but will work take like a 3/8 metal drill bit and take out small bits till you can pry it off. If it wasnt recessed I would say clamp on a vise grip and a pry bar.

if you need tires best bet the tire shop will have the socket set that will take the lock nuts off and will sell you new set of locking nuts with a new tool. that's what we do with our customers

run into this all the time. i carefully torch the lug and stud. it usually does not hurt the aluminum wheels. then you need to install a new stud.

Can anyone identify who makes this locking lug nut so I can order the key? When I bought my car the key was missing, and i need to replace tires. I've searched all over without any luck.

I've already invested in the reverse cutting thread lug removers, the lug is too hard for it to bite, even after hittin it with blowtorch to try and soften it up a bit (I don't want to mess up my aluminum rims). And i've already tried forcing on a socket to grab it (old trick), they just split. It's on a set of Cobra Rally rims, so it's sunk in pretty well, making it all the more harder.

My next options if I can't find the key are to drill out the center and see if a bolt extractor would bite, or attempt to drill out the stud almost completely and go about it that way...

And before anyone says it, I've already taken it to 3 reputable service stations/dealerships, and they all told me to just cut the rim since they couldn't get it either.
