If it is stuck in limp mode, it will be in 2nd gear and yes, you can damage the engine and transmission by driving it continuously at high engine and transmission speed. I suggest you get it fixed sooner rather than later.
Sell the car you have no idea and are just trashing a well built car. You should stick to video games and the bus. Man-o-man has Fast and the furious a lot to answer for. Now you Americans think you can drive stick shift.

i have been driving my Mercedes and it has automatic and shifting too (shifting up and down by hitting the knob to the left or right) i dont have the 3rd petal and lately i have been driving the car in d1 (first gear im assuming) and it picks up speed super fast and sounds so beautiful i was wondering if it can damage the car in any way? i know i will waste more gas since the rpms are always high
