Recent changes in the test have meant that damaged rubber covers failing the test have meant that new covers are available from motor factors.

Simple job,

undo the fastener,

pop the taper out and renew the cover then refit,

using a new Nylock fastener.

and that answers both your questions.

Hi i am afriad this is not a cheap fix this is the track rod ends which need to be replaced and the boots on the end of the steering rack.

Yes. You can get just the ball joint boots for about $7 each....HOWEVER...you will probably fin d that you need to half-a@@ take the ball joint apart to put the boot on...so you may want to consider getting the ball

.joints replaced while youre at it.

I just did my NCT today and it failed on two things:

1) Front suspension Ball Joints- Reason: Dust Covers<-- that is the only answer given to me on the sheet. No explanation

&

2) Front suspension Locking Device- Reason: Missing<--again, that is all that is written down..

Ive just lost my job and really cannot afford big jobs. Im in the Dublin area and wondering if someone can help me on this? Are these big jobs? I have looked up other forums but very hard to tell..
