Distributor and alternator he is doing for 470$

Good price?

Hes buying a brand newdistributor

That's a bargain! This guy must be giving you parts at cost because retail on a distributor or alternator alone is over $200.

Look up the price of the parts on line. Then add $85 an hour for the labor. Thats the average price for a mechanic $85 an hour. Pep Boys charges $120 an hour. Alot of the smaller mobile mechanics charge $40 an hour. Thats what use is a mobile mechanic.

Hope this helps.

you can buy the alternator at most part shops for about 100 bucks then return the old one for a core charge and get back 25-50 of it. your car doesnt have a distributor it has a coil pack or ignition pack. they cost about 100 bucks. so far you are about 200 bucks deep or less in parts and the job can be done in less than an hour for both items most shops charge about 50 bucks an hour. So yeah I think your getting ripped off..

True Story: A brand new Factory Denso Alternator costs more than $500.00 at a Toyota Dealership.

Unless your parts are coming from the dealer of the car, they are re-manufactured not brand new. If they are being purchased from Auto Zone DO NOT BUY THEM!

ITs a 2001 accord

Could be about right for retail install. Some distributers and alternators cost about $200 each.new.
