Is this 1996 mustang worth $600?

If it has under 150k miles I'd go for it, it shouldn't cost to much to fix it up and you could sell it for more if you wanted too. Anything over 150k miles, even though that's really cheap, every time you get something fixed something else will go wrong. Mustangs, especially the 3.8's are great cars and there are TONS of aftermarkets for them.

Unless you a trained mechanic you have no idea what the car is.

Never buy a car when the owner won't spend any money to repair the problems. You MUST get a qualified mechanic to check the car out, that should cost around $100. The car might be fine, but it sounds more like a money pit since the owner is not fixing the problems.

I beliebe so

Those codes can all come up with a bad EGR or plugged EGR passages. Buy the car, you really can't lose. Fix the EGR it will run even better.
