Is there a way to clear up headlamp covers that are glazed?

My car is a 1999 and the headlamps have glaze on them. Is there a way to get that off and restore them to a clear condition ? Or am I looking at replacing them?

I've had success using rubbing compound. It takes some elbow grease and patience to work at it, but the payoff is lights that sparkle like new. Any auto parts house has a selection to choose from. The main ingredient to look for is the grain or grit size. Too small or fine takes too much effort. Too large or coarse and you risk scratching the finish or making the problem worse. I recommend Dupont Old #7.

Mother's Powerball kit at Autozone......... chuck the foam ball up in your drill and save the elbow grease.

Walmart, kit. $20

The cloudiness is oxidized clear coat. Most headlight refinishing kits include wet/dry sandpaper and plastic polish. That works, but only for about 6 months until they oxidize again. The Sylvania kit is the only one I know of that includes clear coat remover and a new bottle of clear coat. I did mine 3 years ago and haven't had to redo them since.
