The motor is a collection of parts.
Crank, rods, pistons, valves, valve springs, rocker arms, camshaft(s), oil pan, cam chain/pushrods, intake, plus a few other parts.
In most cases the frame/unibody would technically be the biggest.
What's the year make and model of his car, buss, truck or tractor engine? Nearly all automotive V--6 and V-8 engines have aluminum blocks and cylinder heads these days when the cars are delivered from the factory. None weigh remotely close to 350 lbs.
Granted, replacement engines for older cars may still have cast iron blocks and cylinder heads which weigh considerably more.
The body, sub-frame, transmission brake rotors wheel bearings and interior weigh mich more than any motor.
Subtract his 350 lbs. from the the weight of his car on his registration and you'll see why the motor is not the heaviest part of the car.
dude you got a small engine if it wieghs 350 lbs my chevy 250 l6 wieghs way more than that little 4 banger your brother has
I work on heavy duty diesel equipment, I have worked on earth movers that have tires the size of small buildings. MUCH bigger then the engine.
It ain't a motor friends. A motor is what runs a window fan. An engine is what runs a car.
I saw the one my brother had to order, for his car. It was huge, weighed 350 pounds!
