Is the dealership responsible for replacing a radio they broke while replacing airbag?

Yes, they are responsible for replacing or repairing it. The problem is getting them to acknowledge that they actually broke it.

It's probably just a loose wire or something simple that got knocked loose while they were working. Ask the dealer to look it and determine what the problem is. Hopefully they will realize that it may have been there fault and fix it. Your first step is to determine the scope of the problem and get it fixed. Then you can argue about who pays.

Smalls claims court is your last resort. First you complain to the manager then the region manager, and anybody else you can think to complain to. Send them written letters or emails stating your position and that you are willing to pursue the issue in small claims court if they do not correct the problem.

Surprisingly, I agree with Stpaulguy 100%. Nobody wants to help you if you come out of the gate like a bull. Explain the situation like an adult to BMW customer service for your area and they will help you.

Yes

Start with the regional manager and BE NICE about it. Don't be accusatory--they hate that.

The BMW dealership replaced the passenger-side airbag under warranty on my 2003 325i. The instant I left the dealership I realized that my radio was not working. The dealer claims that nothing they did to replace the airbag could have broken the radio even though they had to remove the dash and the airbag and radio are inches apart.

Should I take it to the BMW regional manager or small claims court?
