Have you crawled under the vehicle to see if is still there? If the transmission is gone, you will notice a large empty space under the vehicle and there will be some extra parts hanging there.
First best answer to MasTec 1970. That is more typical of a drive axle failure than a transmission failure.

My engine runs fine but when I put it into gear it rattles and the wheels don't get any power. I'm sure I just lost my transmission but if anyone can confirm that for me I will feel better selling it for cheap.
