.knock off the rust slap some bondo in there paint it with spray bombs.drive it till it drops .buy a new dream car.its only metal.or plastic.

i was in love with a car not so long ago which i wanted to paint and than i decided to sell it than i found i new the one am in love with now. i dont think you should , but if the car is in 100% condition than do it but if not. you should use that money to fix it

Auto painting can vary greatly, especially by the quality desired. No joke you can pay $1,000 to $50,000 for a custom show car quality paint job, you need to speak to the person who will paint your car for the prices you might expect to pay. I mean, removing the rust will cost extra unless you do it and do it correctly.

Short answer, I don't think you car is worth spending a few thousand on painting, you NOT looking at a $500 to be perfect cost or anything.

If the rust is coming through from underneath, then No, don't waste money trying to fix it.

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus coupe. I love the car and it is really rare in Canada since it was never sold here the last owner had it imported from the US it currently has around 145,000 miles but runs like new. there is small amount of rust starting on the car and the clear coat is peeling also some big scratches so I am wondering if it is worth painting. I am planning on keeping the car for a long time. Also if I did the prep work myself any estimate on the cost?

Thanks
