Is it possible to buy a pop off valve with a PSI higher than 150PSI?

i have replaced pop off valve. my water pressure is so high as I live next to a water tank and my pressure is higher than most. thiufght a higher PSI would work.

thebax2006 is right on. The last thing you want to do is install a higher pressure valve. Do you realize just how much pressure 150 psi is? That is enough to send the water heather through the roof of your home. If the valve it popping off then your water heater is heating the water too hot. This can be very dangerous. I highly recommend you replace this water heater today.

The safety valve on the water heater is to make sure pressure does not get so high when the water inside is heated. It has nothing to do with line pressure. If you think you have the need for a higher PSI pop off valve because of living next to a water tower you don't understand hydraulic pressure or how much water pressure is in the water mains. The water pressure in the water mains is the same unless a fire hydrant is opened and drops the pressure. The way you are approaching this will lead to having a bomb in your house just waiting to go off!!

Thank you so very much for you answer and safety warning. Should I possibly try another pop off valve? The recent one still continues to leak.

Did you get the correct one the valves going in the side differ from the top , verify your incoming water pressure call your water department, If you have high incoming pressure like I've seen 120psi and add thermal expansion within the hot water system when you heat the water , it could cause your problem I installed an expansion tank and whole house pressure regulator . Now code in most the country

city water systems where fluid leaks( people running water ) may easily drop pressure 40 psi across a city requiring booster pumps to many areas...per Chandler, AZ water dept.
