. The other is Dextron1,ll,lll Dextron 3 is the latest thing on the shelf and it does basically everything else (unless the manufacturer specifies Type F).
What is the difference, I don't know or care. Just do what the manufacturer suggests
Power steering is the same as automatic transmission fluid
Anonymous power steering fluid is a mixture of Dextron and Type F in a 5 gallon pail which they dump in the remainder from various containers and reuse. It is good for killing weeds...or holding down the dust. as it is "Bulk" fluid. I don't care about Castrol, Mobile, Total, Shell, Penzoil or any other. . Dextron and Type F. All companies make both.
While not as critical as the automatic transmission(no, you do not use anonymous fluid there...it must be according to manufacturer specs. as they do not work in the other transmission as well and slippage will occur.
There is no universal power steering fluid. You must use the fluid recommended by the car maker. Read this post on fluids and download the chart

The brand makes no difference, as long as it meets the standards on the cap of the reservoir, or what is stated in your owner's manual.
Some manufactures use ATF, some use DOT 3 or 4 fluids, and there is a difference.
It depends on your car, truck, or moon rover. Honda/Acura vehicles, in particular, must have fluid that says it is compatible with Honda vehicles. Ordinary power steering fluids attack the seals in Honda systems.
tricky issue check out using the search engines it might help
I was at the mechanic fixing a power steering hose issue, and I needed to refill the reservoir. I have fitted an anonymous power steering oil. It means it is not Mobile, not Castrol, Not Total, or any from those brands, Will this harm anything?
