Is it a good deal to buy a Honda Civic 2002 with 219 miles for 2000 dollars?

A guy is selling me a 2002 Honda Civic with 219000 but I don't know, I consider that way to much miles.

I need an opinion, what you guys think?

Any $2000 car is going to have either a lot of miles, or problems, possibly both.

Trick is to find one without any serious problems. 200k miles is not a lot IF the engine has been well maintained (or replaced at some point). But you always take a chance with a cheap used car.

Sure it would be better if it only had 100k miles, but then he would want more than $2000 for it right?

219K miles is a lot, especially if the timing belt needs replaced. That will set you back about $600. Find out if he has docs to show it was replaced. I would have mechanic check it over for $100 or so.

Hondas are known to hold their value, but that mileage is a bit lofty. At least try to find out if there are any maintenence records on the vehicle.

Nope, that car could die tomorrow or next month with that many mile.

that is why too many miles to last too much longer, move on, plenty of other cars for sale.

219 miles?

If all else is good then price is a bit high, $1500

Very good deal if you ask me .Mine has over 450000km and engine is running perfect .It is all rusted but engine very good .

Have you priced the used car @ NADA.com?
