Is a fuel pump related to oil getting to the engine?

I see ZERO connection between the two events.

If it is the 2.7L engine it doesn't surprise me one bit. That has been a problematic engine, especially with T-Chains, Water Pumps and Bottom ends.

I think I'd be blaming engine instead of the poor sap that touched it last. Mechanical contraptions actually do break on their own...

Don't see how related. Fuel pump is usually in the gas tank or in back next to the gas tank.

No where near the engine or oil.

But you can easily get a salvage engine installed for about $1100.

Should be good for a long time.

I second what has already been stated, no the fuel pump has nothing to do with the oil getting to the engine.

It is coincidental. The fuel pump is in the gas tank and has nothing to do with the oiling system.

there ain't no possible connection of the two events

My fuel pump went out on my 2007 Chrysler Sebring a 2 weeks ago and I had it replaced at a Midas. The other day I was driving and the car started making a ticking noise, which got aggressively louder over a matter of minutes and I decided to pull over, and while I was pulling over the engine died completely. I had it towed to the Chrysler dealer and after diagnosis they said the engine wasn't getting any oil and now the engine is totaled (they found the oil full of metal). It only has 86k miles on it and unfortunately all of my warranties are expired, so I'm out of luck. However, I'm wondering if it is in any way related to the fuel pump replacement by Midas from 2 weeks ago, and if they are at all responsible. The guys at the Chrysler dealership said they don't think its related, however I just find it very coincidental, especially since I have well maintained the vehicle over the years (regular oil changes), that the car somehow wasn't getting oil soon after the fuel pump was replaced, when the car has never had any mechanical problems before.
