it isn't usually that much better than front wheel drive but mainly because people over estimate what it can do and get twice a stuck or rather it is better but doesn't make you Superman.
FWD also tends to have higher gas and maintenance price so if you drive on well maintained roads it might not be the best value for you.

Hi no the only thing worth it's salt is a 4x4 drive system.
overdrives principle use is on a highway to save fuel when cruising at about 50 mph as it saves fuel. on roads free of ice snow or even gravel.
