If vehicle has sat for 1 year and a half ,,,what should do to vehicle before trying to start engine? and can explain?

There's a few things that should have been done before it was left to sit so that starting it now would be easy. 1.) It should have been on blocks to keep the weight off the tires. 2.) All orifices, ie. exhaust and engine and heater air intake should have been plugged to keep out rodents and birds. 3.) The gasoline/diesel fuel tank should have had a fuel stabilizer so that the fuel would remain as is in the label - "Stable" and not deteriorate. 4.) The engine should have had a "Fogging" product that is designed exactly for storage as is in the question. 5.) The antifreeze/coolant should have been topped up and had it's freezing point topped up. 6.) The exterior should have had a good wax job. 7.) The engine and transmission should have been changed over to synthetic lubes.

For starting, removing #1 & #2. should be straight ahead as long as everything else is working fine.

Charge or replace the battery.

Replace engine oil, filter and coolant.

Replace the fuel in the tank and the fuel filter.

Check the coolant hoses and drive belts for deterioration.

Then cross you fingers, turn the key, and hope. If it won't start, then go back to normal fault finding.

Also check the tires, steering, bakes and suspension before you drive it. But that's directly related to the engine.

Remove all the spark plugs and put about 1 oz of Miricle Mystery oil in each cylinder, let sit for 2 days.

Try to rotate engine by hand, before using starter.

Reinstall plugs.

Charge or get new battery

Pour a little gasoline in carb.

Try to start as normal.

Charge battery or new battery it lost its charge. Drain the oil and change the oil filter it will have moisture in it and be all gummed up. Drain the fuel from the tank. The fuel will be gummed up. And moisture in the tank. Fuel believe it or not has a shelf life. It actually starts to break down and turn to varnish.
