Cause and effect are obvious. If this car was OK before this fiasco, then, by all logical thinking, the problems you now experience are due to this event. Time and time again, people do this basic error because they do not read the car manual. All car manuals have proper instructions as to this procedure. Which terminal to connect to first, where on the dead car to connect, to be super careful as to polarity and safety warnings and instructions as well. Sorry, Ms. Samantha, but you have to take this car, or have it towed, to a mechanic for repairs.
You can absolutely have done damage to your vehicle. It's likely you fried a cell in the battery, damaged the electronics in the PCM, alternator, or melted the wiring to vital components.
Best to take it to a professional for an in-depth diagnostic.
You damaged the $1500 PCM
Yes.
I jumped started my husband's car and he accidentally reversed cables and now I am having problems with my car starting. If my car sits for a long period of time it gives more problems.
