In order to work properly, the coolant in your radiator should be a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and clean water. If you don't know what is in the radiator now, the best bet is to completely drain the cooling system and start over with the proper 50/50 mixture. .

Just water or a water/antifreeze mix in the radiator. If so what concentration?

If in doubt drain the lot and add a 50/50 mix

Flush your radiator and use antifreeze only. Water is only a temporary replacement.

It's my Moms car and she is in Ohio. The anti freeze she bought said add water. She had the anti freeze put in last yr. at the dealer so I don't know what is in it

50/50 is ideal for most but check the book. some do say stronger.

better get some assistance with it
