If you are doing engineering you could also examine the pad under a microscope in the material science lab, and etch it etc......
They used to be made with asbestos before it was banned
If I am not mistaken Bosch brake pads are ceramic. Best bet, incase I am wrong, call a car part store and ask if they carry Bosch brand brake pads and ask what are they made of.
they made of it from iron
I'm currently doing an assignment for my Engineering class on a Bosch disc brake pad where, in one section, I have to identify and analyse the 'principle material' used to manufacture the part. As I understand it, there are several possibilities: metallic, ceramic, NAO etc, but I have no idea how to identify which material is used in this particular product.
