I recently had to throw out my trunk mat because of smell, any alternatives?

Cut out a sheet of Masonite to fit the trunk and glue fabric on it. If you find a used carpet at the salvage yard it will probably smell worse than the one you threw out. If push comes to shove you could spray it with rubberized bed liner..

I learned a trick from this webpage :

http://www.truck-and-car-floor-mats.com/...

It tells you how to clean a car mat or in your case a cargo mat in a trashcan. It give some recipes for cleaner and how to remove mold and mildew smells too.

If you would've hung that mat outside somewhere, hosed it down then sprayed the crap out of it with lysol, the smell would be gone. Well, it is now.

I bought a used car from someone, and the trunk mat smelled like mildew, which made my whole car smell like it..so I threw it out. What is a good alternative to a trunk mat? My car is a 2002 honda accord so they don't make those anymore. I was thinking about buying some heavy material and just cutting out the shape, but I'm not sure which material would be sufficient enough to hold heavy objects like a suitcase. Any suggestions?
