I left my car's light on for 8 hours?

Hi,

No need to worry. If your car started everything is fine. The battery has not been damaged at all and you need not worry. If you have not driven since you might just want to drive a few blocks to ensure the battery is fully charged.

Dome lights normally draw very little current and can burn for many hours without significantly draining the battery.

Did you turn it off immediately upon finding out it did start? You should go back and turn it on again, and leave it running for about 10 min. No, you don't have to charge the battery. Actually, it charges itself. Esp if you drive it somewhere for about 15 min (7or 8 min, then go back home).

No you don't have to. If however there some kind of issue with your battery, take it to autozone. they charge your battery for free if is chargeable. usually leaving the light on just drain the battery so is really no big deal.

no need to worry , just drive it about 3 or 4 miles to recharge the battery

While it wont have done the battery any favours, all you need to do is drive normally for a while and the battery will be rechanged.

If the engine starts, it will be fine. ;)

When I got into the car cleaning it, I turned the light on the roof, but then I forgot to turn it off, when I realized that, it had been 8 hours. I started the engine and it's fine. But I still worry about this, do I have to charge the battery, or do something else?

Please help, I appreciate that :(
