ry pouring a just a little gas in the carb then starting it. mechanical pump may need time to get gas from the tank to the pump. you may have to do this a few times before it picks up the gas

I would venture to say you need to put some gas in the tank. At least 5 gallons. Unless it has been sitting for years without running. Then you need to drop the tank and clean it, replace the sock and the filter, clean out the carb bowl and change the oil and filter.

I'm willing to bet you put the fuel filter in backwards, That happens allot, No biggie, Simply reinstall your fuel filter making sure you install it with the arrow pointing towards the front of the car.

Good luck and enjoy your awesome Chevrolet, Wish I could see it.

Sonny had a good idea. If it runs two or three seconds, that means it will crank if it gets gas. If it

dies after two or three tries, your fuel pump is bad . Unlikley your filter is so stopped up that , no gas will

pass at all. That is unless you've been having trouble prior to this. Before you waste a lot of time

you can go Auot Zone , Advance Auto Parts , and pick up a repair manual for less then $20. This will help

a lot . Finding where the fuel pump is , on this model i don't know, may be in the gas tank?
