If there is a "Fuel Bowl" under the carb, remove it. (Usually a thumb screw holds it on) Take note if there is fuel in the bowl. Carefully remove the pin that holds the float in place. Note the position of the needle valve spring. Spray everything down with Gumout Carb cleaner. Remove mixture screw and spray in there too. Now put everything back together. One last shot of cleaner with the air filter removed. Good to go.

upright? anyway, the fuel pump is under a cover on the carb between the exhaust and intake. replace it. its like 4 screws and an alignement pin. then revome the idle mix screw and housing(11mm) under that is your main jet, remove it, clean it and the bleedhole behind it.

forgive the typos, im drinking, and fresh fuel my friend. start with the mix screw out 2.5 turns. adjust at full throttle till you get your best rpm. then 1/4 turn fwd to aid in cold starts and off idle response

Sounds like its not getting fuel. Get the carburetor cleaned

clean the carb

its your fuel supply tank, line, or carb clean them
