1) check the fluid on the dipstick while the car is running. A transmissions fluid is not like the oil. Oil you check after cars been off a while. A transmission is checked with car running and fluid is hot. Make sure it is at the operating level on the dip stick. Low fluid will make your car not move forward.
2. If fluid is fine while hot it is 1 of 3 things.
A. The fluid and filter needs to be changed. I've seen clogged tranny filters with so much sediment and sludge the fluid willnot go through the tranny and alow it to shift or move.
B. Your clutches and bands in the transmission are worn out and needs a rebuilt or used transmission
C. Your transmission's torque converter may be bad. If fluid is full when warm then try changing the fluid and filter. Next step if that doent fix it is a rebuilt or used transmission. Depends if you wanna spend $400 on a used transmission plus about $400 labor to remove and reinstall another one.
It's slipping, there is a possible cause list as long as your arm.

If it is full and does not stink, Call AAA so the tranny man can tell you what i suspect. It is worn out or broken inside.
Anywhere in that fluid circuit you could have the cause of a leak or bypass, a misaligned valve, a cracked drum, the list goes and goes, so does the tow truck.
Transmission.
You need to stop driving this car immediately before you destroy the transmission. Check the transmission fluid level as outlined in your owners manual. If it is low of fluid add the correct fluid until it is at the full mark. DO NOT OVERFILL. If it is not low of fluid It needs to be looked at by a professional tomorrow. It may be fixable at this point in time. Keep driving it and it will not be.
Typical Camry transmission failure. Happens to alost all of them eventually.
