Right, the remanufacturers reseal them and resell them.
They put all the seals from the kit in.
They may even retube the cylinder for the power piston.
If you had the separate seal, you would need the seals for the directional valve anyway when disturbing the input.
A reman comes with a warranty for future leaks or concerns, and is the best all around use of your time and money.
A used rack can be found at the u-pull-it yard if you can find a decent, recently replaced part on a rig out there.
A tech can save hundreds for you this way if you know someone like that.

So after lifting up my car I had another person help me determine where the leak is and it turns out the fluid is coming out from under the steering gear seal where the steering shaft connects to the steering rack, so now my question is is it easier to replace the seal or the whole rack?
