How to remove sludge from valves?

If you use engine flush, you open yourself up to catastrophic damage. Read article below. Best way to handle this is to do more frequent oil changes and let the detergent in the oil gradually dissolve the buildup.

Find a reputable parts dealer, IE the Zone or such, and get a can or bottle of engine flush! Follow the directions exactly, be prepared to do an oil and filter change afterward; and you will find that most of the buildup will be safe dissolved! Afterward; I would avoid using oils that contain parafin! Good Luck :)

change the oil more offen

Try to find an AMSOIL dealership! In Michigan we have a chain that uses ONLY AMSOIL OIL and cleaners! AMSOIL is safe effective and will NOT cause any harm! If you had VALVE COVER OFF< use AMSOIL POWER FOAM to loosen up and melt the deposits. The FILTER will pick it up safely! I have done this on EURO CARS< JAPANESE CARS, and FORD cars! It is ONLY GM car engines that are most vulnerable because they have LOWER specifications in manufacturing! Almost 90 % of engine get ruined by using ONLY the viscosity ratings as a guide! Yous ee where THAT got you!!! Use either PENNZOI LULTRA or MOBIL ONE 0W-30 oil AFTER a motor flush is one! It MELTS the **** and dissolves grunge that is baking into your engine! In ONLY About 4% of engines I have un sludged had any difficulty at all and most were from the early 80's and GM ONES! The JEEP is very close to EUROPEAN SPECS! Do NOT use VALVOLINE EVER AGAIN! It is a total sludge maker, an cannot handle HEAT! This is why there are SYNTHETIC OIL that last for up to 25k miles between changes! PENNZOIL ULTRA gives a 1`56 year 500k mile warranty with it! THAT's RIGHT! it is THAT GOOD! There is also B-G products that work just FINE and SAFELY! The longer SLUDGE lives inside engine the worse it will be down the road! It cost you FUEL MILEAGE< and eventually will eat up your converter and exhausts. NO MORE WAX BASED JUNK OILS! Junk yards are FULL OF THEM!

I have a 92 Jeep Wrangler 2.5l. Replacing my valve cover gasket I notice a fairly heavy buildup of oil sludge. Scraped the top of the head, but how to get to the inside?? Any recomendations on a product that can help break it up safely without being too corrosive? Thank u much!!
