Unbolt the dipstick tube and pull it and the dipstick out. Remove the dipstick from the bottom of the tube and reinstall the tube. Buy a new dipstick at the dealer using the VIN so you get the correct length dipstick for your motor. If you take a chance on an after market dipstick you better pray it's the right one or you may ruin your motor.

Needle nose pliers? I didn't know breaking a dipstick was possible. You must work for Quickie-Lube.

Pull the dipstick tube out of the block and push it out.

you can drill a small hole it the plastic then use an easy-out or a pick and just put a little pressure on it and pull it out. "Don't drill all the way through the plastic and don't drill into medal" once you see someone doing it you will understand that this is one of the easiest ways. this is a ford so before you do anything check the dipstick tube and see if it needs replacement. they are known to rust out (dipstick tube)

Medical forceps.

how far down. can you get a small pair of needle nose pliers in the tube.
