How to get cigarette smell out of car?

Ozone treatment. Guaranteed to work, very inexpensive and quick, doesn't just hide but removes the source of the smell. Any decent detailing shop can do it.

I work for a rental car agency and when someone smokes, we take that car and park it with the windows open for a long period of time. That is the cheapest way to clean the smoke. Next you would have to detail the interior. Every square inch, and just keep rubbing and cleaning with products. It is a very time consuming task but works.

Another quick fix is to get some Fabreze. They sell little devices that look like buttons. What you do is place them on the vents where the air flow is for the AC unit. What you are doing is circulating a odor control with the fresh air as it enters the car. That work well.

Hope one of these suggestions helps you out.

The trouble is removing most of the smoke from fabrics! I have a special blend i use to DISSOLVE smoke forever! VW makes INTERIOR CLEANER SPRAY that is a mix of BUTYL CELLOSOLVE< Tri- sodium phosphate and a DASH of bleach! You may h\need a CARPET VACUUM STEAMER hand tool to SUCK the fluids out after! This will remove the SMELL and also the YELLOW stains easily! then stick a few APPLES broken into pieces over night on the carpet! For some reason, APPLES remove odors well and leave a pleasant smell instead! The TRICK is to remove as much SMOKE and YELLOW STAINS as you can from inside HEAD LINER< and from fabrics in seats and carpets and DOOR PANELS! TSP< or TRISODIUM PHOSPHATE will easily remove YELLOW STAINS by itself. OZONE is good and so is STPAULGUYS answer

Murphy's oil soap and water. Wash everything in the interior, including the headliner. Use clean, dry cloths to wipe away the soapy wash water. You do not have to rinse.

Use some small plastic items, like a putty knife or ball point pen end and rub the wash cloth into the seams, cracks, corners.

Arm&Hammer room and rug deodorizer. Just sprinkle on floors and seats, wait 10 minutes, and vacuum. Might take a couple times to get rid of the odor depending on how bad it is.

You can get special shampoos and also sprays (air fresheners) that specifically cancel out cigarette smells. In my experience they work great.

No smock

My fiancé's mom got a new car so my fiancé bought me her old one. It's a 2002 Camry and a fairly nice car. Only thing is she used to smoke and the car smells like cigarettes. What can get rid of the smell or at least help a little?
