The linkage just came off on the drivers door. Take the door panel off and you can see the problem. There is usually a plastic keeper to hold in together. Buy that clip an most auto parts stores for $1.00.

I would say door lock actuator since it still locks manually just not electrically.

boy...sounds like you're stuck.

the only way (that I know of) to do that is to take off the inner door panel and access the physical mechanism inside the door. Warning, can really mess up your door.

I would just take it to a reliable mechanic, NOT YOUR DEALER they always overcharge.

I drive a 1998 Pontiac grand prix, and my door lock is broken but I don't know how to fix it. It's strange, if you hit the door lock switch you hear the sound but only the passenger door will lock not the driver. I always have to lock it manually. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Is a motor or something broke? If That's the case why does my passenger door lock still? I need you guys help please
