Transmission, pedal rack, interior components out of a manual, ecu, tranny mounts, possible drive shaft and rear end out of a manual, all linkages, flywheel, clutch master cylinder...
Plus installation..... so figure $1900 for tranny, another $2500 for misc. parts, plus a grand or two labor.
So basically, the price of a running, driving manual car, plus some. Going to cost more than your car is worth and kill the value of your car.
A huge amount of money in labor alone for such a huge amount of custom work, this sounds like a silly idea, a foolish teenaged dream even.
It would be cheaper to buy a car with a manual transmission.

I am aware that it is a very constly job. And some would say that I would be better off buying a new car. But I'm considering replacing my automatic transmission with a manual one in my 92 BMW e36 320i. Can someone list what is needed to be purchased to do the job? Such as the cost of the transmission, clutch peddal, and whatever else is needed? I would like to get this professionally done. So I'm also considering bringing in the car to a garage to get the job done. So how Much would labour be as well?
