Scott is absolutely right. Most shops will not install customer parts. And his analogy is right on. A shop is a business and they make money on their labor and they make a profit on parts. When you bring your own parts, you deny the shop a portion of their labor.
In fact, it is JUST like bringing your own steak to Outback and offering to pay just for the labor to cook it. They'd laugh you out of the place.
Finally, the labor to install a strut varies by the year, make, model, which you didn't think was important enough to provide. Some struts come out with 5 bolts, other require the shop to lower the engine cradle to gain enough clearance to remove the strut.
Not cheap. Need a shop and a lift. "How much" answers don't get you where you need to be. Ask for quotes at local shops. At least two. Three better. Takes just a few minutes and it's free. They look in a book for hours labor and call for a price on parts. You having part or parts is not good. Return for refund. Shop will not warranty any installation of parts brought in by customer,
What Scott said is the truth. Furthermore, like most of the slack-jawed bumpkins on Yahoo! Answers, you completely FAIL to state the YEAR MAKE OR MODEL of your secret vehicle, so no one could do anything but guess anyway.
Don't be a cheapskate moron and drag in some cheap, probably Chinese-made aftermarket junk parts. No reputable shop will install them.
Many shops won't install customer parts. Do you take your own steak to Outback and ask them to cook it for you?
How much would you say a local shop would charge me just to install struts only I have the part i just need them to put it on my car for me
